How to Optimize a Betting Slip to Target Odds

Every bettor has a number in mind. Some want a daily 2 odds. Some chase 5 odds every weekend. Some want one 10-odds slip on a Saturday. The problem is that the codes you receive never come in at your number. They come in at 47.3, or 2.8, or 13.6.

The usual fix is to start deleting games until the total looks right, which is guesswork. Optimize Slip does it properly. You set the target, it rebuilds the slip, and it tells you why it made every change.

What Optimize Slip does

You paste a booking code and set a target, either a range like 5 to 8 odds or an exact figure. Optimize then reshapes the slip using three moves:

  • Cut: remove games, usually the longest-priced ones, to bring a big slip down.
  • Swap: keep a game but change its market, for example from home win to double chance, using the bookmaker's live prices for that exact game.
  • Add: bring in extra games when the slip is too short to reach your target.

It always starts with the slip you pasted. It does not throw your picks away and invent a new slip.

Three variants, three trade-offs

Every run gives you three versions of the slip, all aimed at your target:

VariantWhat it prefersGood for
SafestThe games with the most likely outcomesKeeping any single game from carrying too much risk
BalancedA mix of safe and riskier gamesMost people, most days
ValueThe best prices, with no risk restrictionsWhen you trust the picks and want the most for them
A maths note worth knowing. At a fixed target, every variant has roughly the same overall chance of winning, because the total odds already describe that chance: a 5-odds slip lands about 1 time in 5 before the bookmaker's margin. What "Safest" really changes is how the risk is spread. It avoids having one long shot carrying the whole slip, which means fewer slips that die to a single upset.

Pick the number. The tool does the aiming.

How to optimize a slip, step by step

  1. Open Optimize Slip in the app or dashboard.
  2. Choose the bookmaker and paste the booking code. Convat reads every game and shows what odds are reachable, from the shortest single game up to all of them together.
  3. Set your target odds, as a range or an exact number.
  4. Lock any game you refuse to lose. Locked games are never cut or swapped. You can also leave a game out entirely.
  5. Run it. You get Safest, Balanced and Value, each with its total odds and a short reason for every change.
  6. Pick a variant and generate the code. You can generate it on the original bookmaker or on another one.
  7. Convat books the code, reads it back from the bookmaker, and confirms it matches what you were shown.

Only that last step creates a code or counts as a conversion. Setting targets and comparing variants costs nothing, so experiment freely.

Real situations Optimize handles

"This 40-odds code is too much"

Set 5 to 8. Optimize cuts the riskiest legs first and may swap one or two to safer markets on the same games, landing inside your range with the strongest of the original picks.

"I only have 3 games and want 10 odds"

Set 10. Optimize swaps games to bigger markets where it makes sense and adds extra games to close the gap.

"I love this slip but it is on the wrong bookmaker"

Optimize it and generate the result on your own bookmaker in the same flow. The prices it used are the target bookmaker's own.

When the target is out of reach

Sometimes the games simply cannot get there, or the bookmaker is slow to answer while Optimize is searching for swaps and additions. In that case you get the closest slip it could build and an honest note about why. It will say the bookmaker was slow and it stopped at a certain point, rather than pretending your games cannot reach a number when it simply ran out of time.

Optimize, Market Switch or Rebook?

  • Optimize: you care about the total odds.
  • Market Switch: you want every game on one market, such as Over 1.5.
  • Rebook: you want to change specific picks by hand.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce the odds on my betting slip?

Paste the code into Optimize Slip and set a lower target. It removes the longest-priced games first and can swap games to safer markets, then gives you a new booking code.

How do I increase my slip to 10 odds?

Set a target of 10 in Optimize Slip. It swaps games to bigger markets where sensible and adds extra games until the slip reaches the target.

Can I keep certain games on the slip?

Yes. Lock any game before you run Optimize and it will never be cut or changed.

Which variant should I choose?

Balanced suits most people. Choose Safest to avoid one long shot carrying the slip, or Value when you trust the picks and want the best prices.

Is Optimize Slip free?

Optimize Slip is part of the paid Weekly and Monthly plans. It is not included in the free trial.
